The Emirates Dubai 7s Youth Sports Festival is back!
The fourth edition of the Youth Sports Festival will take place on the evenings of Friday 11th October and Friday 15th November 2024 at iconic The Sevens Stadium, Dubai.
The aim of the Festival is to encourage girls and boys of all ages to make sport, health and wellbeing a mainstay of their development from childhood to adulthood and to capitalize from all of the social, physical and mental wellbeing that regular sport and exercise provides.
It also serves to give children the opportunity to compete at their current and aspiring level of performance in a ‘mini’ Emirates Dubai 7s Festival, surrounded by spectators, family and friends with music blaring and great food and beverage on offer.
Last but not least there is the ultimate incentive – the teams that finish in the top 2 places in each sport and Age Group, play their finals at the main Emirates Dubai 7s Festival in late November when 100,000 people pack The Sevens Stadium for the biggest Sports and Entertainment Festival in the Middle East.
Youth Cricket, presented by Dulsco, sees 6 teams at the Under 13 and 8 teams at Under 15 levels play in a round robin competition of Cricket 7s.
Teams of 7 players have 6 overs each to score as many runs as they can with the added unique incentive of being able to hit a ball for a ‘7’!
Youth Netball presented by Nakheel Community Management is a schools Tournament with 24 teams competing across the Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 category. The noise around the courts is deafening and matches incredibly competitive. The Netball courts are really a focal point of the event, amped up by the DJ blasting hits over the courts as play continues and teams try desperately to secure their place in the top two.
Youth Rugby is a Clubs competition for teams at U13, U14 and at U16 level for both Girls and Boys. The level of competition increases year on year and really demonstrates how UAE Rugby punches well above its weight in terms of outstanding, young rugby talent.
In total, just over 1,000 kids compete across these two fun packed Friday evenings, cheered on by crowds of 2,000 – 3,000 people. Now one of the most popular Youth Sports fixtures in the calendar, we cannot wait to witness the talent on show at the Emirates Dubai 7s this October and November.
